This structure is the complex containing human topoisomerase IIalpha (hTopoIIalpha), DNA (cleaved) and etoposide (bound at both the etoposide-binding sites). Etoposide is non-intercalating hTopoIIalpha poison which prevents hTopoIIalpha mediated DNA re-ligation and causes DNA strand breakage.
